“Be for real”
Honesty entails truthfulness in our words, gestures and actions since thoughts, expression and feelings should go hand in hand. Whatever we think or feel belongs to us. It makes us grow up and seek an agreement with ourselves in order to embrace our outlook on life. Asking for opinions and listening carefully is very important when it comes to drawing conclusions and reaching a personal viewpoint in which we can believe, thus gaining security when it´s time to express ourselves. We are free to express it if we see fit to do so. As a matter of fact, it is more human to keep something to yourself rather than express it hypocritically, deceiving those who might be relying on our words or deeds. Lying can give rise to negative feelings for whom carries out the action if they have a conscience, as well as for those who find out the truth and feel disappointed. . Expressions can be conveyed both through words and body language. That´s the reason why we can make use of them so that the information that reaches the recipient is faithful to the one we have stored. That way, misunderstandings and offences are avoided. It is important to be brave and face and reflect reality such as it is, transparently, genuinely, showing ourselves just the way we are, no frills. But we also need to watch our language, gestures and actions when we are trying to be honest and act out of common sense, sympathy and respect.
