There are as many viewpoints As there are lifestyles They are alright as long as there is true respect We´re all alike, we are all different Try to reach for what´s special Go for it, get yourself together The world could be a perfect place If you put your mind to work Prove how grateful you are It is not so bad are you ready to sympathise So many ways to say things And just as many ways to act They are alright as long as there is true respect So much genius in the world Never too late to come together If I can really speak my own mind The world could be a perfect place If you put your mind to work Prove how grateful you are It is not so bad are you ready to sympathise If you open your eyes you will understand It is up to you to show due respect.
“Tolerate, understand, appreciate, treasure…”
Respect refers to acceptance and understanding of all kinds of traits, attitudes, ideologies, behaviours, decisions and so forth, as long as they comply with ethics; to proper treatment of others through commitment to fostering peace, eschewing insults, other people´s pain and one´s own and consideration, appreciation, even admiration towards certain people for their personality or deeds. One of the greatest riches we possess is the diversity of personalities, criteria and behaviours springing from environmental differences, upbringing, development, customs, etc. This may cause striking, unexpected situations, which don´t have to be annoying to anyone, but they might be respected through tolerance, sympathy and understanding. Exchanging opinions is positive as a tool to learning, as is the will to listen to them with an open mind free of prejudice. Imposing something is no way to behave, especially when there is no communication. This value is an indispensable principle thanks to which people can live with one another, cherishing, caring about and helping one another.
